Terms & Conditions
How asking for a seat and paying works, your right to cancel, how courses run, who owns the materials and your code, and where our promises stop.

Clause 1
Who the agreement is with
These terms cover your use of frontendartisans.com and every course you take with us. Your agreement is with INSTAKEYS LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 17531546, whose registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. It trades as Frontend Artisans. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “Frontend Artisans” mean that company, and “you” means the person taking the course.
Asking for a seat, paying for a course or joining a live session each mean you accept these terms. If you don’t, please don’t enrol — and if a particular clause bothers you, write and tell us which one.
Clause 2
Who can take a course
- You need to be 18 or over.
- The details you give us need to be right. We arrange the intro call and send session links to the email address and phone number on your form, so a typo can cost you both.
- A seat belongs to one named person. When an employer pays, the seat is still yours alone; it can’t be shared with a colleague or handed to someone else partway through.
Clause 3
Asking for a seat, and paying for it
The form on this site sends us a request. It is not an order, it doesn’t create a contract, and nothing is charged when you send it.
- We reply within one working day to arrange a call of about thirty minutes with the tutor.
- If you both agree the course fits, we email you a private payment link in pounds sterling, or an invoice if your employer is paying. Prices include any VAT that applies. We hold your seat for seven days while payment is outstanding.
- The contract is made when your payment clears and we confirm the course dates, session times and syllabus to you in writing.
- Prices on this site can change, but the price we confirm to you in writing is the one you pay for that course.
Clause 4
Your right to cancel
If you are buying as a consumer, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you 14 days from the day the contract is made to cancel it without giving a reason. If you ask us to start the course within those 14 days and then cancel, the law would normally let us keep a fair amount for the part already delivered.
We don’t. Our refund policy returns the full fee if you tell us within 30 days of your course’s first live session, which covers the statutory period and goes beyond it. It forms part of these terms, and it applies in the same way when an employer has paid.
Clause 5
How a course runs
Courses are taught live over video on a fixed timetable: 2 sessions a week, each about 90 minutes long, with no more than 8 people on a course. All times are given in UK time. Sessions are recorded, and the recordings are shared with the people on that course.
- If illness or an emergency means we have to move a session, we tell you as early as we can and run it at another time.
- If too few people enrol for a course to run well, we may postpone it. You can then move to the next one or take a full refund.
- We don’t promise a particular tutor. If we have to change tutors, the new one will have comparable experience.
- You’ll need a reasonably recent computer, a steady internet connection and a microphone. If a course needs a paid tool or account, its catalogue entry names it before you pay.
Clause 6
Conduct at the bench
People learn fastest when they can ask a half-formed question without being judged for it. We expect everyone to be courteous, and we will remove anyone who harasses, threatens or repeatedly disrupts a session.
- Don’t record, screenshot or share a session without our written permission; other people appear in it.
- Don’t share your session links or login details.
- Keep to yourself anything you learn about another person’s employer, product or code.
If we remove you for serious misconduct, your access ends and no refund is due for the rest of the course. We treat that as a last resort, and we will warn you clearly before it happens.
Clause 7
Who owns what
The slides, exercises, recordings, starter code and notes we provide belong to INSTAKEYS LTD. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own learning, including at work, for as long as we keep them available to you.
That licence doesn’t cover reselling or republishing the materials, using them to train an AI model, or using them to teach a course that competes with ours.
Your code is yours. We claim no rights in anything you build, during a course or afterwards.
Clause 8
What we promise, and what we can't
We teach with reasonable care and skill, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires, and we deliver what the course description and our written confirmation say. If we fall short, tell us: we will put it right, or refund what is fair if we can’t.
We can’t promise you a job, a promotion, a pay rise, a passed interview or a fix for a particular problem in your own code. The courses are educational; they are not professional advice on security, accessibility compliance or anything else, and you remain responsible for what you put into production.
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill, but not for loss that wasn’t foreseeable. If you are buying for a business, our total liability for any claim relating to a course is limited to the fee paid for it, and we are not liable for loss of profit, business or data.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law of England and Wales doesn’t allow us to limit, and nothing takes away your statutory rights as a consumer.
Clause 9
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be heard in its courts. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. Before any of that, we’d much rather settle a problem by email.
Clause 10
Changes to these terms
We update these terms from time to time, and the date at the top of the page shows which version applies. If a change materially affects a course you’ve already enrolled on, we’ll email you about it rather than expect you to notice it here.
